  Demetrios (The Demetrios Project)

Described by Blues and Soul music magazine as ‘one of the most persistent artists in the business’, Demetrios began his career as a singer-songwriter at the Southwark Young People’s Music Project back in Peckham in southeast London.

Following a stint at the Prince’s Trust Rock School, Demetrios was later awarded a grant to finance the recording of his very first professional demo; one that was to impress and compel BBC television producer Malcolm Smith to make Demetrios’ television debut a reality.

Showcasing on BBC 1’s ‘The 11th Hour’, Demetrios was interviewed by Heart FM DJ Toby Anstis and given the opportunity to perform one his very first tracks live to a nationwide audience.  The public’s reaction to his gospel influenced sound was overwhelming and lead to Demetrios featuring in the first of the series of ITV’s ‘Young, Gifted & Broke’.

‘The Demetrios Project’, a vehicle for his song-writing, saw two releases through UK funky house label, MN2S.  The label, who were up for a nomination at the 2005 House Music Awards, have just released their first ever Acapella 12'' which features both of Demetrios’ underground successes, namely ‘CELEBRATE’ and ‘FEEL ALIVE’.

2005 also saw the promo-release of Demetrios’ solo debut, ‘RAIN’.  His soulful delivery on this epic track went down well with DJs and reviewers alike: Russ Deeks, editor of i-dj magazine, assures us that Demetrios is ‘a name you're sure to be hearing more of, if his performance here is anything to go by’.  And he is not alone in his opinion, M8 magazine get specific and state that ‘if a deal can be done you will be hearing a whole lot more from Demetrios’.
