BIOGRAPHY

Layers (of Sound), a.k.a. Mike Newstead, is an up-and-coming Soulful, Funky, Electro House producer and DJ starting to make a name for himself on the London scene for his original productions, his independent record label LOS Recordings, and a string of DJ residencies and guest appearances including: Turnmills, Epicurean Lounge, Kinky Mambo, Millennium, Matt & Matt, Progress, Lush et al.

Having spent the past few years focusing on the funkier side of House music, Mike has collaborated with a number of musicians and vocalists, always retaining his distinctively rich melodic layered sound. Commercial releases have also been coming hard and fast over the past few years and labels include: Rapid Reaction, Queep Organic House, Lowered, Refunkt, Doubleshock, Soulheat, Mettle Music, Armada, Clubstar and Ministry of Sound.

Mike also founded Layers of Sound Recordings, a digital House record label, which saw it's first two releases, 'Mission' & 'Thanking You' both by Layers of Sound & The Demetrios project featured on the Ministry of Sound Housexy compilations. amongst others.
